On Sunday the 4th of December 2011, 4 cadets from 2175 (Rolls-Royce) Squadron ran in the Barshaw Park Santa Dash.
On Sunday the 11th of December 2011, 1740 (Clydebank) Squadron visited HMS Gannet in Prestwick.
Sgt McDonald from 62 (2nd Glasgow) Squadron was been awarded the Kriegie trophy for 2011.
On Saturday the 17th of December, the Sea King Crew from HMS Gannet visited the Wing Clay Target facility at Dechmont Ranges.
The Lord Lieutenant of Lanarkshire, Mr Mushtaq Ahmad OBE visited 2414 (East Kilbride) ATC Squadron on Monday 12 December 2011.
5 Cadets from 2414 (East Kilbride) ATC Squadron attended the Corps Banner Drill Competition on the 19th November.
On the 20 November 2011 in Edinburgh, Flying Officer Yasmeen Khan from 2452 Shawlands Squadron was appointed as Ambassador for Peace by the Universal Peace Federation.
CWO Andrew McGuire (1089), WO Tom Kerr (122) and Flt Lt Mick Quinn (32F) all received Lord Lieutenant's Certificates at the City Chambers on 22nd November alongside TV's Jackie Bird.

1740 (Clydebank) Squadron held a bun fight (an organisations annual tea party) on Thursday 15th December to celebrate the years achievements.
On Saturday the 3rd of December an inspection team from the ATC visited the site of 1740 (Clydebank) Squadrons new building.
On Saturday the 19th of November 2175 (Rolls-Royce) Squadron held their 6th annual dining in night and MacPherson awards.

7 Cadets from Scotland & Northern Ireland Region Pipes and Drums participated in the recent Cadet Forces Piping and Drumming competitions, including 2 cadets from West Sctoland Wing. The event was held at the Army School of Bagpipe Music and Highland Drumming, Inchdrewer House, Redford Barracks, Edinburgh on the 22 October 2011.

Staff and cadets from West Scotland and South East Scotland Wings travelled to Joint Helicopter Command Flying Station Aldergrove for a week long Camp from 15 -22 October.
On 1st October 2011, cadets from the 1740 (Clydebank) Squadron attended the unveiling of a memorial to the victims of the sinking of HMT Lancastria.
At the recent 2452 Parents Night & Annual Formal Inspection Wing Commander Haley, OC Wing, made the following major presentations among a lot of others;
Greenock Air Cadets celebrated a special night of achievement at Lyle Community Kirk on Thursday 22nd September.
On Friday 14th October, the CVQO's Adult Graduation Ceremony was held at the Royal Military Academy Sandhurst.
ALL the top guns, past and present, were gathered in Cumbernauld at the weekend to celebrate the Cumbernauld Air Cadets 40th anniversary, which included the unveiling of the unit's new crest by first-ever CO Ian Middleton.

Cadets from 470 (Falkirk) visited the Network Rail Training Centre in Larbert on Tuesday 13th of September as part of a pre-arranged interest visit.
September weekend saw the final Duke of Edinburgh's Award hike from 2175 (Rolls-Royce) Squadron. They were accompanied by 3 cadets and 2 staff from 1740 (Clydebank) Squadron.
Having served with the Submarine Service for over twenty years, Officer cadet Edward Buist migrated from the from the Royal Navy and attended his OIC at RAF Cranwell this Summer.
The Regional Field Day was held on the 4th of September which included the Regional drill, modelling, aircraft recognition and photogaphic competitions as well as the presentation of the Purdie Sword and Andrews sash for the 2 best cadets in the region.
Cadets from West Scotland Wing assisted Strathclyde Police and Glasgow City Council in running all 6 of their traffic gates on Sunday the 4th of September during the Great Scottish Run 2011.
On Saturday the 27th August, 33 cadets from 2414 (East Kilbride) Squadron attended the Wing Drill Competition.

Alana Boggan ( 13) From Bonnybridge has made a remarkable Start to her Air Cadet Career. Since joining 867 Denny Squadron in March she has won Seven Medals, Six gold medals and one Bronze !
The West Scotland Wing Clay Target team proved themselves top in the ATC for the 5th year running at the National Cadet Tri Service Clay Target Shooting Competition, held at Marne Barracks, Catterick over the weekend of 24 - 26 June.

137 (Ayr & Prestwick Squadron) took part in Ayr’s Holy Fair run by South Ayrshire Council on the 18th of June.
The Inter Region Athletics Championships were held at RAF Cosford on the 18th of June 2011. The Region performed to a very high standard with notable contributions by athletes from West Scotland Wing.
The Air Training Corps recently triumphed over the Army Cadet Force and the Sea Cadets at the Inter Services Small-bore Rifle Match. We beat the Army cadets into second place by a total of 414 points.

Cadets from 2452 (Shawlands Academy) Squadron Air Training Corps were last week awarded the Glasgow & West of Scotland Wing Training Trophy for their outstanding exam success. They obtained the highest scores out of 24 squadrons within the wing.

On Sunday the 6th February 2011, Cadets and Staff from Glasgow & West Scotland Wing of the Air Training Corps attended a Church Service to commemorate their 70th Anniversary.
Glasgow & West Scotland wing will be marking the 70th anniversary of the ATC this year with various events. The first, to be held on Sunday the 6th of February will be our annual church parade, this year, held at Glasgow Cathedral.
Air Commodore RJ Atkinson (AOS) paid a visit to an Air Cadet piping and drumming training weekend held recently at RAF Leuchars, where he is currently serving as Station Commander. Air Commodore Atkinson is also the President of the Royal Air Force Pipe Band Association.
