Barshaw Park Santa Dash
On Sunday the 4th of December 2011, 4 cadets from 2175
(Rolls-Royce) Squadron ran in the Barshaw Park Santa Dash.
The 5K race was a sponsored event in aid of
ACCORD Hospice.
Over 100 volunteers, dressed
as Santa in full suits and beards took part in the run which
attracted adults and kids alike.
ACCORD Hospice is an
independent charity giving free Specialist Palliative Medical and
Nursing Care and support to people whoseillness is causing
physical pain and emotional distress and for whom curative
treatment may no longer be appropriate.
The cadets; Cpl Jennifer Adam,
Cdt Andrew Law, Cdt Shannon Rae and Cpl Connor MacLeod (pictured
above) together raised £100 for the charity with Sgt (ATC) Kelly
McGee in attendance to cheer them on! All cadets successfully
completed the run, just before the snow started to
fall.
