128 cadets gathered at Garelochhead Army Training Camp for a weekend exercise from the 27th - 29th of April.
On Saturday 21st April at 10.00am local air cadets from 4 local squadrons joined together with the local Paisley and Renfrewshire community to pay tribute to Her Majesty the Queen in her diamond jubilee and serving members of HM Armed Forces prior to Armed Forces Day.
From the 10th - 14th of April cadets from 1138 (Ardrossan) and 2452 (Shawlands) completed a silver qualifier/practice hike in the Trossachs near Dukes Pass in Aberfoyle.
From the 13th - 15th of April, 44 cadets and 10 staff from three local squadrons, 449 (Lanark) squadron, 498 (Wishaw) squadron & 2166 (Hamilton) squadron, attended Garelochhead Training Camp near Helensburgh for a weekend of Field Craft.
Cadets and staff from 327 (Kilmarnock) Squadron recently enjoyed a visit to Kilmarnock Community Fire Station.

Station personnel from RAF Leuchars joined forces with Cadet Force Adult Volunteers (CFAVs) from West Scotland Wing Air Training Corps recently, to undertake a Clay Pigeon Shooting Association (CPSA) Safety Officer qualification.
Cadet Warrant Officer (CWO) Lauren McNulty from Kilmarnock was presented with a leaving gift after 7 years as a cadet with 327 (Kilmarnock) Squadron.

Recently twelve cadets from 1271 (Bathgate) Squadron have achieved their bronze Duke of Edinburgh Award.
1271 (Bathgate) Squadron recently hosted a visit from Mr Jim Lauder, Regional Health and Safety Officer for Scotland and Northern Ireland Region.
Gliding is one of the best activities you can do as an air cadet. It is right up there with flying, shooting and camps.
24 cadets from 1271 (Bathgate) Squadron recently completed the ACO Health and Safety Entry Level Award, a Cabinet Office initiative sponsored by the British Safety Council.
On the 10th of March, 2452 (Shawlands Academy) Squadron's ‘A’ team consisting of myself, Cpls Sobhan Arif, Taimur Atif and Alasdair Kettyle successfully won the Regional Small bore shooting competition, which was held in Dundee’s TA centre.
The 62 (2nd Glasgow) dinner dance was conducted on the 3rd of March at the Pond hotel in Glasgow this year and proved to be a stunning night, with a mouth-watering three course meal and presentations being made, it certainly was a night to remember.
Cadets from 327 (Kilmarnock) Squadron were recently presented with certificates and trophies for their achievements over the previous year.
Sargeant Kiran McDonald-Seran (17) from 62 (2nd Glasgow) Squadron was presented with the Kriegie trophy on Saturday the 17th of March by Mr George Thompson, Royal Air Force (Retired) and Ex-prisoner of War association.
498 (Wishaw) Squadron held their 6th annual Dining In Night at the Bentley Hotel in Motherwell on Saturday the 18th of February 2012.
Cadets from (1271) Bathgate Air Cadets recently got involved in various fundraising activities to raise funds and awareness for an invaluable UK charity- Hounds for Hero’s.

Cadet Corporal Mark Hutton (16) of 1333 (Grangemouth) Squadron ATC is heading for Somerset as one of 21 finalists for the prestigious Duke of Westminster Award.
On 4th March at 122 (Maryhill) Sqn, six teams from across West Scotland Wing competed for team and individual prizes.
On 5th March, eight cadets from 2452 (Shawlands) Squadron paid a visit to the Strathclyde Police Traffic Unit as part of their Duke of Edinburgh's Award.
From the 27th to the 29th of January, 32 cadets from 2452 Shawlands Academy Squadron and 1371 Girvan Squadron attended Garelochhead Training Camp near Helensburgh.

On Monday 27th February 2 Staff and 15 cadets from 2452 (Shawlands) Squadron had a very interesting visit to the Military Section of Oceanic Control of the National Air Traffic Control Services at Prestwick where they learned what this facility does and in particular what the RAF element does.
An ex-cadet from 327 (Kilmarnock) Squadron has made it to the rank of Air Marshall.

On Sunday the 5th of February 2012, the old Glasgow & West Scotland Wing banner was officially laid up and the new West Scotland Wing banner was presented at a service at Abbotsgrange Church, Grangemouth.
On Sunday 29th January 2012, 6 cadets from 498 (Wishaw) Squadron Air Cadets visited No. 4 Air Experience Flight at Glasgow airport.
2175 (Rolls-Royce) Squadron organised a weekend of activities at the Regional Activity Centre for themselves and friends from 1740 (Clydebank) and 2414 (East Kilbride) Squadrons from the 27th – 29th of January.
2414 (East Kilbride) Squadron held their annual Dining In Night at the East Kilbride Rugby Club on Saturday the 21st of January 2012.

470 (Falkirk) Squadron held an end of year presentation ceremony where the Cadet of the Year and Marksman trophies were presented along with a few promotions.
On Saturday the 14th of January 2175 (Rolls-Royce) Squadron were treated to some expert coaching by Civilian Instructor Dave Lacey, his wife Marion and Corporal Jennifer Adam as they introduced the squadron to the sport of Curling.
On Sunday 15th of January 2012, 2 squadrons visited 12 AEF at RAF Leuchars.
