Air Experience Flying for 498 (Wishaw) Squadron
On Sunday 29th January
2012, 6 cadets from 498 (Wishaw) Squadron Air Cadets
visited No. 4 Air Experience Flight at Glasgow
airport.

It
was the first time the cadets had been given the opportunity to fly
and they were very keen to go up. The cadets took off from
Glasgow airport's main runway and the route
which they flew, took them over Loch Lomond
and then returning them to Glasgow
airport. While they were over Loch Lomond
they took control of the aircraft (a Grob Tutor) and
experienced what it felt like to be a pilot. After Cadet Thomson
had landed (pictured below) he said, "This was one of the
best things that I've done and I felt like the pilot out of top
gun".

While the cadets were at Glasgow
airport there was a Chinook from Royal Air Force 18 squadron
which had been visiting the university air squadron (UAS). Some of
the cadets were able to watch it land from the safety of the UAS
building to finish off their exciting day. All the cadets say they
can't wait till next time.
